📍Full remote (only freelance consultancy agreements)

Employee Salary Range (Gross Annual Salary, RAL): € 35,000.00 - 50,000.00

Contractor Compensation Range (Annualized): € 55,000.00 - 75,000.00

What You'll Do

As an Engineering Manager, you will:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development.

• Own delivery planning, team capacity, execution, and engineering outcomes.

• Partner closely with Product Management to define priorities, scope, and realistic delivery commitments.

• Support technical and architectural decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and reliable.

• Drive engineering excellence through best practices, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and continuous improvement.

• Identify and manage technical debt, delivery risks, and cross-team dependencies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.

• Recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent while fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture.

Job requirements

  • Smart and gets things done

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in complex software projects

  • Strong technical background with experience in software development

  • Great with modern engineering practices and agile methodologies

  • Experience working in diverse, globally distributed, remote teams

  • 4-hour overlap with the CET time zone (westbound preferred)

  • Eligible to obtain a visa and can travel to Italy within three months of hiring
